As is our tradition at Roch Carrier, our school will be participating in the Roch3 challenge during the month of February! Initiated by School Council parents, lead and supported by teachers, the purpose of the Roch3 initiative is meant to engage a sense of civic responsibility within our school and community. Students will learn about integrity and empathy through action and example.
The Roch3 initiative invites students to consider what it means to be kind and challenges them to extend their everyday kindness to others at home, at school and in our community.
Each student is asked to identify 3 action goals, specifying how to show their kindness at school, at home and in the community. Students are asked to write their action goals onto Roch3 logo papers (which will be sent home). These Roch3 logo papers will be displayed in the main hall of our school.
At our kick-off assembly this week, students participated in a group think activity to help spark their ideas. Students’ suggestions included: helping a neighbour to shovel snow, making a Valentine’s card for a local retirement home, picking up litter on a windy day, helping out with chores at home. Everyone is encouraged to get involved, be creative and complete 3 acts that can Roch our World!
